Those ineligible locations are Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.If you currently reside in an ineligible state, you may relocate to an eligible state and be considered for an internshipDedicate a minimum of 24 hours each week to your internship responsibilities and tasks, up to 40 hours a week. We continue to look for opportunities to reflect the communities we serve, and welcome applicants with diverse thoughts, backgrounds, and experiences.Duties and Responsibilities:The duties and responsibility of the UX/UI Intern may include but are not limited to:Design impactful & delightful user experiences for Southwest external and internal digital experiences, with an ability to execute through requirements.Generate ideas and refine concepts with Stakeholders including Project Team Members and other UX Designers in the community of practice.Employ resources and optimize work efficiently within scope of responsibility.Initiate courses of action in line with Digital Experience strategy, drive forward and follow through against promised timelines.Construct hypotheses, seek solutions and best practices in determining information structure, wireframes/prototypes, and user interactions in a manner that is simple and intuitive.Communicate all types of interaction, create a point of view, collaborate effectively, present with poise and confidence.Seek out best practices from across competitive digital experiences and apply learnings to design deliverables.Create stimuli for usability studies and partner with the User Research Team to facilitate tests with Customers.Research and maintain up to date knowledge of information architecture, user experience, web design, accessibility and usability trends.Work with Leader to align on priorities, constructively address project work, and build personal development plans.Commit to a capstone project & presentation to share with relevant Stakeholders.May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.Basic Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.Must be at least 18 years of age.You must have a valid U.S. Social Security Number to complete the full hiring process.Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.EducationProgress towards a degree, major or minor in Graphic design, Communication design, Human and Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Service Designer or a similar degree required.Progress towards a 4-year undergraduate degree preferredTo be eligible, you must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (as defined by your university) at the time of application and during the internshipAt least one semester remaining at the time the internship ends is preferredMinimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of applicationExperienceSpecialized knowledge preferred:Digital Experience DesignUser Experience DesignDigital MarketingMarketingLarge Organization ExperienceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of a variety of design tools specializing in wire framing (ex: Figma, Axure, UX Pin, Visio, etc), visual design (ex: Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc), and prototyping (ex: Principle, Marvel, Invision, Adobe XD, etc)Basic knowledge of JIRA, Microsoft Project, and/or Trello preferred.Basic knowledge of project management principles and methodologies such as agile, scaled agile (SAFe), waterfall, etc. preferred.Basic understanding of working with development and basic understanding of HTML and CSS preferred.Time Commitment and Pay:Part-Time 24-40hrs a week.Must maintain a consistent weekly schedule during normal business hours at a max 8hrs per day and no fewer than 24hrs per week.January 28th – April 17th (12 weeks).$23 per hour + $1,000 stipend paid in two installments of $500.Please print/save the job description because it won’t be available after you apply.To apply, you must submit your application and a resume for each role online at .We are committed to helping individuals with disabilities participate in the workforce and ensuring equal opportunity to apply and compete for jobs.
