Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential:Responsibilities:Katie Glasgow & Associates, staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is hiring a rising 3L 2024 Summer Law Intern (Class of 2026) for our Washington DC Claim Litigation Counsel office located in Lanham, MD. Our internship program strives to provide a balanced and realistic representation of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, as well as real-world exposure to a multitude of legal services being provided. The selected individual will have exposure to litigation and trial practice along with the opportunity to work one-on-one with attorneys on assigned projects, observe various stages of litigation, and will have a designated mentor throughout the internship. The internship has a full-time schedule in the summer with the potential to transition to a part-time schedule during the 2025/2026 school year. The Summer internship will consist of a combination of time worked in-office and remote. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, an energetic/positive attitude, legal research knowledge, and the ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.Located in Lanham, MD we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, professional work environment with skilled support staff. Qualifications:Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an ABA accredited Law School program and remain enrolled for the duration of the internship
- 2L student in the top half of their class
- Strong research skills including familiarity with Westlaw
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in litigation
- Resume and writing sample required
Internship Details:
- Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
- Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
- Pay: $33/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!
- Work Arrangement:
- HYBRID: Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
