The Solution Developer Intern works on Acxiom and third-party software to build solutions for business problems defined by specific business requirements. In this internship, you will gain knowledge of and draw upon technical and data processing knowledge to tackle marketing and data warehousing problems for our clients’ solutions. You may configure or tune software, work on automation processes to tie components together, develop custom application code to accommodate defined requirements, or collaborate with others to add extensions to existing Acxiom software. You may also provide new development, ongoing maintenance, and support and optimization of solutions for the account teams you are supporting.Internship details:
- The internship will begin January 13th, 2025
- This internship will be located in Conway, AR
- 20-25 hours/week work dedication during the semester and up to 40/week during breaks and summer
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2025 – December 2026
- Applicants for this internship position with Acxiom in the U.S. must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Acxiom (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (CPT/OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status)
What you will do:
- Read and interpret application design and functional specifications to write application code
- Provide consultation on functional requirements and participate in reviewing code in code review sessions
- Understand Acxiom solution software and apply it to defining solutions standards, policies and procedures
- Identify and diagnose areas of maintenance, performance issues, and process improvement
- Use pertinent software language, develop/execute unit test cases and test software applications that fulfill functional specifications using an IDE: Document and interpret test results and correct application coding errors
- Complete application development task for short duration programming requirements with limited assistance
- Own multiple small projects while also working on larger projects with top-tier developers to meet due dates and deadlines
What you will need:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related area
- Exposure to SQL and other Programming language experience (object-oriented, procedural)
- Superb communication skills: demonstrable ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to other members of the development team
What will set you apart:
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Advanced knowledge of SQL / PL –SQL
- Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
- Linux/Unix
- Knowledge of Relational Database Principles; Oracle or other DBMS
