As a management trainee, students learn how to apply educational concepts to real-world situations, as they discover another potential career path and complete university requirements to earn their degree. Student efforts directly impact the quality of life of the Navy community, working side-by-side with employees to create and deliver programs, services and experiences for active-duty service members, their families and other eligible customers. Incumbent is assigned to assist in the operation of a specific FFR activity, e.g.; Outdoor Recreation, Single Sailor Program, Sports and Fitness, Food & Entertainment, and Information Technology. Typical assignment may include planning, scheduling and publicizing of events, applying rules and regulations in supervising indoor and outdoor activities, setting up venues, scheduling and conducting tours and field trips. Marketing duties may include photography, video production, social media strategies, graphic design, promotions and print production. Other programs available and dependent on student’s academic goals.RequirementsConditions of Employment

QualificationsAs many Navy FFR interns are interested in exploring career opportunities with us, we are looking for the Navy Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) professional of the future. Eligible candidates are mature, independent and good role models for others, whether on duty or not. In order to be considered for an internship, you must meet the following criteria: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate level degree program related to a Navy Fleet and Family Readiness program or operational function (i.e., recreation, hospitality, fitness/exercise science, sport management, culinary arts, marketing, IT). Must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA (in major program area of study) of at least 2.5. Applicant must be a United States citizen. Applicant will have completed at least four semesters of college classes before beginning the internship. Must meet federal health and safety protocols prior to assignment.EducationCurrent enrollment in high school, post high school, or undergraduate/graduate level degree program related to a Navy Fleet and Family Readiness program or operational function (i.e., recreation, hospitality, fitness/exercise science, sport management, culinary arts, marketing, IT).
