BERKELEY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.COLLEGE STUDENT – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INTERNPOSITION SUMMARYPosition SummaryInternship positions are available from May through August, depending on when applicant’s academic school year is out.To provide efficient and effective support services to various departments within Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc.Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
• Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
• Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
• Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
• Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
• Follow-up and update customer status and information
• Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures.
• Maintain records in ticket management system.
• Assist with Maintenance of the intranet site on-going improvements and modifications.
• Work on projects including web layout enhancements, desktop applications, website enhancements, web-based applications, and database-backed websites.

EducationApplicants must be currently enrolled in college, preferably studying a related field, and be in good academic standing.Knowledge Skills And AbilitiesStudent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplineGeneral knowledge of IT fundamentals and troubleshootingMust have good general office and computer skills, be detail oriented, reliable, efficient, conscientious, and able to work with minimal supervision.Must have organizational skills.Must have the ability to communicate effectively and in a friendly and personable manner with employees and the public.Promptness is extremely important.Must be a team player.Working ConditionsMust be able to perform frequent physical activity including walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 30 lbs.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability status, veteran status, or other legally protected status.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
