For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Engineering Services Office in the Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State is seeking a self-motivated, positive, customer service oriented and quality conscious Administrative Support Intern to join our Facilities Operations & Maintenance team. ARL’s purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC).You will:Answer phones and greet visitorsAssist with assigning, closing, and commenting on facilities work ordersScan documents for purchasing and travel expense reconciliationUpdate building door coresVerify key inventory and recordsDeliver items, such as paper, keys, etc., as requestedAssist Trades as requestedAssist in reorganization of computer shared foldersThe successful candidate will work up to 20 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours/week over the summer.This is a paid internship located fully on-site in State College, PA; relocation and housing are not provided.Required skills and experience include:Familiarity with Microsoft OfficeInterest in learning job related softwareSuccess in effectively working in an office environment that utilizes diverse communication and organizational skillsProfessionalism with a high commitment to customer serviceAbility to take initiative and effectively manage time, prioritize, and problem solveExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentialityPreferred skills and experiences include:SIMBA, Confluence, Workday, and SAP ConcurActive government security clearanceARL at Penn State is an integral part of one of the leading research universities in the nation and serves as a University center of excellence in defense science, systems, and technologies with a focus in naval missions and related areas.You will be subject to a government security investigation, and you must be a U.S. citizen to apply.
