As programmers, researchers, designers, client professionals and craftspeople we create the tech, tools and awards that connect employees to purpose at thousands of companies.Join us as we help people all over the world thrive at work.Job DescriptionThis internship provides the opportunity to experience hands-on work and meaningful projects in the environmental and sustainability realm, work one-on-one with a mentor, and collaborate with other employees cross-departmentally.Responsibilities*Subject to change, but the following are good indications of possible work topics and projects.*
- Gathering data, documenting, and analyzing scope 1 and 2 emissions for O.C. Tanner facilities globally.
- Develop portions of scope 3 emissions inventory for specific O.C. Tanner facilities.
- Schedule “eco-treasure hunt” with third-party to determine energy improvements on O.C. Tanner’s main campus.
- Water use system development and project coordination.
- Updating general sustainability data in spreadsheets.
- Performing chemical inventory and safety data sheet updates.
- Improve and maintain air emission inventory.
- Regulated waste determination and profiling.
- Developing risk matrices for environmental and/or sustainability processes.
- Complete training, as necessary.
Schedule
- Full time 12-week paid internship.
- Start date is flexible, but ideally in May 2025.
- Hours may fluctuate but generally will be Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in a hybrid in-person/remote schedule from our SLC Corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- Can work around class schedule, if necessary.
Requirements:Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Pursuing college degree at any level (preferably in a major or area related to environment, sustainability, or similar science/engineering).
- Microsoft Office experience is highly recommended.
- Comfortable regularly conversing with all levels of internal employees.
