About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented HR Intern to join our team remotely from April to August. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in HR operations, particularly in benefits administration, employee data management, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate is proactive, tech-savvy, and customer service-oriented.Company Headquarters: Minnesota (Central Time Zone). While this is a remote position, preference will be given to candidates residing in states within the Central Time Zone or neighboring regions for better alignment with business hours.Key Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration:
- Process new hire and Qualifying Life Event (QLE) benefits enrollments, ensuring timely and accurate submission of benefits information.
- Assist with COBRA administration.
- Reconcile benefits invoices to ensure accuracy.
- HR Operations & Employee Support:
- Create and distribute termination letters.
- Assist with filing employee documents and maintaining HR records.
- Provide support for employees experiencing issues with the Employee Self-Service (ESS) portal, resolving or escalating inquiries as needed.
- Monitor the HR team inbox and serve as the first point of contact for new hires and general HR inquiries.
- Review and audit new employee data for accuracy, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
- HR Systems & Documentation:
- Maintain the HR SharePoint site, ensuring resources, policies, and information are up to date.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous HR or administrative experience (internships, coursework, or part-time work).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, with frequent use of hands for typing, filing, and using office equipment.
