Department NameOutreach DowntownJob DescriptionEducational Outreach – Access ASU is hiring a Management Intern to support Access ASU programs occurring within local Arizona high school districts. These may include, but may not be limited to, leading workshops/presentations both in-person or remote; staffing college fairs and other college readiness events; and provide support across Access ASU programs during peak times. All Access ASU Programs focus on preparing students for enrollment and success at ASU. This position collaborates with assigned senior staff member(s) to gain working knowledge and experience related to department administration. The ideal candidate must work well in a fast-paced, flexible environment, provide a high level of customer service to students, the university and external communities, and make strong contributions both as an individual and as a team player.
This position is based at the ASU Tempe campus.
Candidate is required to be enrolled in a Graduate Program during the duration of employment and continuation of employment will be based on enrollment in a Graduate Program.Regular Schedule: 20 hours to be completed 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday as well as some evenings and weekends. Work location is primarily at the ASU Tempe Campus; the incumbent will be required to travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses. - Evidence in being a Graduate Student in a closely related field of study.
- Experience in providing K-12 outreach
- Experience working with high school students
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong partnerships
- Experience in implementing and planning educational programs and activities
- Experience with public speaking
- Evidence of effective communication skills
- Experience in speaking, writing and reading in Spanish/English (bilingual)
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and various social media platforms

- Work collaboratively as part of a team to support Access ASU programs and goals.
- Support Access ASU programs and initiatives focused on schools, families and students.
- Assist with planning and delivering college readiness programs to students in grades 9-12.
- Facilitate and deliver college readiness presentations at offsite locations or through virtual platforms.
- Monitor and evaluate progress of assigned programs.
- Maintain databases and prepare reports as needed.
- Lead and/or support university and community events and opportunities that promote college readiness, ASU programs, and enrollment at ASU.
- Other duties as assigned
- Required travel to off-campus schools or sites to perform work. Transportation will not be provided by the department/ASU
SCHEDULE: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday -Friday to include evenings and some weekends.
