All interns will attend regular information sessions, each led by a different member of our team. We’re hoping this will provide them with a good overview of what we do, how we do it, and how the pieces fit together.Position OverviewSmile Train is looking for an IT Support Intern to join our team and assist with technical support and troubleshooting for our employees. This role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in IT systems, help desk operations, and support enterprise technology while contributing to Smile Train’s mission of empowering local medical professionals to provide free cleft treatment worldwide.Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users, help troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist in setting up and configuring computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Help manage IT assets, including inventory tracking and documentation.
  • Support the deployment and maintenance of operating systems and software applications.
  • Respond to IT support requests via email, chat, or ticketing system.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.).
  • Participate in IT security awareness initiatives and follow best practices.
  • Document IT procedures and create user guides for employees.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on various projects, such as system upgrades and new technology rollouts.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office 365, and networking concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with IT ticketing systems like ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Freshdesk.
  • Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting (PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
  • Experience with remote support tools such as TeamViewer or AnyDesk.
